Natural skin care by the Portuguese brand Caramela | on Due fili d'erba | Two blades of grass | by Thais FK

Today I’m going to share with you one of the most enjoyable photoshoots I’ve ever had. I took these pictures in a beautiful beach in Portugal, called Praia da Ilha do Pessegueiro, in a hot, sunny day and I most certainly couldn’t complain about my office location 😀
What I was photographing were natural skin products of the Portuguese brand called Caramela. What I love about this brand is the fact that they use only natural ingredients. The INCI list of their skin care products are super short, the shortest I’ve ever seen! And I can recognize 90-100% of them (ok, knowing some Latin helps a lot, I admit it). So here you go with a little commentary for the Caramela’s products I tried.

Body scrub

This body scrub is the best choice for your legs in summertime or if you have dry skin. Believe me. It contains Himalayan salt, coconut oil, almond oil, hazelnut oil. I love to use it after shaving. It smooths the skin, it removes dead cells and leaves the legs hydrated and shiny, but not oily.

Facial scrub

When I smelled this scrub, I just wanted it (and had to make a big effort not to do it!). The main ingredients are: brown sugar, arabica coffee powder, Indian thorny bamboo leaf extract, peach kernel powder and cocoa. Add 1 egg and bake for 20 minutes at 180°C in oven 😀 It is seriously irresistible and works great, leaving your face silky. Since this scrubs helps with the regeneration of the cellular skin, after using it your face will have a healthier and fresher look. Now I know some of your might feel that facial scrubs are too aggressive and leave the skin red, but Caramela had thought about this too by adding bamboo leaf extract and almonds, which respectively have anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. The almonds also prevents the skin to peel, emphasizing the silky result.

Facial cleansing mask

Last but not least, Caramela’s facial cleansing mask. This mask is made out of a mixture of different kinds of minerals, clay and chamomile water. It is especially meant for sensitive and dry skins, but I used it even in summertime when usually my skin is oilier than normal and still it didn’t leave me oily. This mask will have to sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing it with lukewarm water.

Facial cleanser

This cleanser was an important addition to my facial cleansing routine. It is really delicate, but effective. I usually use it in the evenings after have removed my makeup. To use it just take a small amount of product with a little spoon or a wooden stick, place it on your hand, add some water, rub gently your hands, apply to face and rinse with water. This should be your perfect final step of a facial cleansing routine because this cleanser has astringent properties, which means that it will close your facial pores and won’t allow to the dirt to go in. It contains: almonds, oat oil, sunflower seed oil, chamomile, lavender and apple.
